ÖZET: Sosyal medya, çağımızın yeni teknolojik buluşlarından olup bilgi paylaşımının yapıldığı dijital bir platformdur. Medyayı klasik kalıbından çıkararak başka bir boyuta taşımıştır. Kürt medyası da bu yeni nesil teknolojiden faydalanmış ve dünya sosyal medya platformunda yerini almıştır. Sosyal medya ve araçlarının gelişimi toplumları etkileyerek, birey ve kitleler arasındaki etkileşimin sağlanmasında rol oynamıştır. Bu durum araştırmacının dikkatini çekmiş, sosyal medyanın gerçekliği, özellikleri ve toplumda kullanım alışkanlığının bilimsel bir yöntemle araştırılarak sonuçlarının ortaya çıkarılmasına çalışılmıştır. Irak Kürdistan Bölgesi'nde sosyal medya kullanımının birçok alanda yoğunluk kazanması, toplumsal gelişimi tetikleme konusunda etkili olmuştur. Kullanılan sosyal ağlar daha çok çevre edinmek ve yeni arkadaşlıklar kurmak amaçlıdır. Kürdistan Bölgesinde her yaş aralığında yer alan kişiler sosyal medya ve ağlarını herhangi bir teknolojik cihazla internet üzerinden kullanabilmektedir. Kitlelerde bağımlılık yaratan ve bireylerde kullanım alışkınlığına sebep olan bu ağların farklı etkileri de vardır. Sosyal medya kişinin; sosyal, siyasal, kültürel ve düşünsel yapısını etkilemektedir. Sadece vakit geçirmek ve eğlence mekânı olarak kullanılmayan sosyal medyada kişiler arası bilgi aktarımı yapılabiliniyor, bireyler örgütlenebiliyor ve yeni kültürlerle tanışabiliyorlar. Bu anlamda toplum bireylerinin hayatına doğrudan giren sosyal medya, bireyin eğitsel dünyasına da etki edebiliyor.Bu çalışma, Irak Kürdistan Bölgesel Hükümeti sınırları içinde yer alan Salahaddin Üniversitesi'nde okuyan 750 öğrenci’nin sosyal medyanın gelişimi ve toplumda sosyal medya kullanım alışkanlıkları konusunu ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüm, kavramsal ve kuramsal çerçeveyi içerirken, ikinci bölümde, araştırmanın amacı, önemi, problemleri, evren ve örneklem seçimi ile veri toplama tekniklerine yönelik bir çerçeve bulunmaktadır. SUMMARY: Social media is another technological discovery of our time. It's the digital platform on which information is shared. It took the media out of the classical castle and moved it to another dimension. The Kurdish media has benefited from this new generation of technology and has taken its place in the world social media platform. Accordingly, social networks especially private networks, have a serious impact on social life. Besides being user-based, they are important in bringing together people and increasing interaction between them. This situation attracted the attention of the researcher and tried to reveal the social media's reality, characteristics and the usage habits of the society in a scientific way. In the Kurdistan Region, the presence of many public social networks is important for society. At the beginning of these fields, social networks, which are the most suitable model in the Kurdistan Region, are used to acquire friendship and environment. In the Kurdistan Region, every person can use his or her social networks on the Internet in any technological process, regardless of their age. Certainly, the effects of these social networks, which are dependent on individuals, are also very diverse. Social media has a direct impact on the individual's political, cultural and thought world. Social media is not just a medium to spend time and entertainment. Individuals can communicate, organize and meet new cultures through social media. In this sense, the social media, which directly enters the lives of the society's individuals, can also influence the educational world of the individuals.Socıal medıa development and socıal medıa usage habıts ın socıal medıa development and socıety In this study of 750 students at the Salahaddin University in the Kurdistan Regional Government, the working conditions of the students and the physical infrastructure situations have shown the influence of the students on the academic achievement. It has been found that the working conditions of the students in the study, parental occupation status - family income situation and the physical infrastructure conditions of the schools are determinants of the success of the students. This study consists of three parts. The first part includes the conceptual and theoretical framework, while the second part contains a framework for the data collection techniques and data analysis, with the aim of the research, the importance, the problems, the universe and the choice of the sample.
