ÖZET:Günümüz iletişim çağında görsel ve metinsel anlamı içinde amacı bilgilenmek ve kültürlenmek için aracı olan kitap; kapak tasarımı ve sayfa düzeni ile okur ve yazar arasındaki ilk iletişimi sağlayan kaynak ve ayrıca bir sanat yapıtı olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, postmodernizm kavramı açıklanarak, postmodern paradigmada sanatçı kitapları değerlendirilmiştir. Postmodern teorinin gündeme getirdiği kavramlardan hareketle üretilen birkaç örnekle sanatçı kitabı incelenmiştir. Konuyla direk ilişkili bilim ve sanat alanındaki çalışmaların analizlerinin belirttiği bilgiler; tez kapsamında, 1980 sonrası Sanatçı Kitapları’nın tarihsel kökleri ve özelliklerini kapsayacak biçimde tartışılmıştır. Sanatçı kitaplarının alışıla gelen kitap formunun dışında bir sanat nesnesi haline gelmesi, yeterince ilgi görüp tartışılmadığı düşüncesiyle araştırılma konusu olarak seçilmiştir. Sanat açısından Postmodernizm, 1970’lerden sonra ortaya çıkan kapsamlı sanatsal üretim düşüncesini anlatmaktadır. Postmodernizmin bütün tanımlarında, postmodernist sanat anlayışı, modern sanata karşı tanımlanmaktadır. Sanatçı Kitapları tartışmaları ve üretimi günümüzde de farklı estetik gerekçelerle sürdürülmektedir. Yani Sanatçı Kitapları’nın özelliklerini incelemenin, onları tanımlama aşamasında önemlidir. Sanatçı Kitaplarının üretimi ve analizleri Türkiye sanatçıları ve teorisyenleri tarafından, bir grup oluşturacak genişlikte incelenmemiştir. Özellikle Güzel Sanatlar Fakülte programlarında yer almadığı için konu ülkemizde yaygın olarak tanınmamaktadır. Oysa dünyada çok sayıda sanatçı kitabı müzesi ve sergilerinin yanı sıra sanatçı kitapları bienalleri yapılmaktadır. Türkiye’deki söz konusu gecikmenin nedenselliği bu tez araştırmasının içerisinde yer alacaktır. Bu konu hakkında çok az sayıda yapılan Türkçe kaynağa bu çalışma ile bir yeni kaynak daha eklenmiştir. Bu konuya ilgi duyan insanlara fayda sağlaması amacı ile ellerinde detaylı bir kaynak daha olması hedeflenmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Sanatçı kitapları, Modernizm, Postmodernizm

ABSTRACT:The book, which is a tool for today's communication experiences in visual and textual meaning, to be informed and cultured; It is the first source of communication between the author and the reader with its cover design and page layout, and also it has created an artistic structure. This genre, postmodernism, has been explained and the artist's books have been evaluated in the postmodern paradigm. Conducting an artist book with a few examples produced from the concepts brought by postmodern theory. Direct communications with the subject and data information of science and art business analysis; The scope of the thesis is discussed in a way using the historical roots and features of Post-1980 Artist Books. The fact that artist's books have become an art object apart from the book printout that comes with the habit has been chosen as a research subject with the thought that it is not thought to be of sufficient interest. In terms of art, Postmodernism describes the idea of comprehensive artistic production that emerged after the 1970s. In all definitions of postmodernism, postmodernist understanding of art, analysis against modern art. Discussions and production of Artist's Books continue with different aesthetic evaluations today. In other words, it is important to examine the characteristics of Artist Books and to define them. The production and analysis of Artist Books have not been studied extensively by Turkish artists and theorists to form a group. The subject is not widely recognized, especially since it is not included in the Fine Arts Faculty programs. However, there are many artist book museums and exhibitions as well as artist book biennials around the world. The causality of the said delay in Turkey will be included in this thesis research. With the prepared study, a new one is reserved for the Turkish decoctions, which are few in number on this subject.
