ÖZET: Canlı, evrende bulunduğu andan itibaren sürekli arayış içinde olmuştur. Bu arayışı gerek kendi çevresinde gerekse de başka alanlarda sürdürmüştür. Canlılar içerisinde bu arayışı sürekli hale getiren insandır. Zira insan var olduğundan beri doğada bulunan her şeyi kendine mal etmiştir. Bunu yaparken hem bilim hem de felsefeden yararlanmıştır. Ayrıca birtakım sınıflamalara başvurarak belli yasalar keşfetmişlerdir. Bu sınıflamaları ilk başta dile getiren isim de Aristoteles’tir. Aristoteles ile başlayan bilimler sınıflandırması daha sonra ondan etkilenecek olan filozof ve bilim insanları tarafından devam ettirilmiştir. Aristoteles’in yaptığı sınıflandırmaların başında da biyoloji gelmektedir. Kısacası Aristoteles’e göre biyoloji canlı bilimidir. Aristoteles biyolojiyi fizik ve kimya gibi diğer doğa bilimlerinden ayırmıştır. Diğer doğa bilimlerinden kasıt fizik ve kimyadır. Tezde anlatılacak konu da biyoloji, biyoloji yasaları, bilim ve bilimsel açıklamalar ve biyoloji felsefesi olacaktır. Biyoloji ve biyolojideki doğa yasaları ile bilimsel açıklamalara ilişkin metafizik eleştirilerine değinilecektir. Biyoloji ve biyoloji yasalarının özellikleri anlatıldıktan sonra bilim ve bilimsel açıklamalar açıklanacak, sonra anlatılan bu olgular biyoloji felsefesi ilişkilendirilerek dile getirilecektir. Biyoloji ile diğer doğa bilimleri ilişki içindedirler. Biyoloji daha çok değişen durumlardan bahsederken doğal bilimler de değişmeyen yani sabit kalan durumlardan bahsetmektedir. Biyoloji ve biyoloji yasalarının özellikleri onların niteliksel ve niceliksel bir biçimde incelenmesini gerekli kılar. Ayrıca biyolojinin doğa bilimleri ile nasıl bir ilişki içinde olduğu ele alınacaktır. Diğer doğa bilimlerindeki yasalar, ceteris paribus yasaları Newton mekaniği, Hempel’in açıklama modeli bağdaştırılarak işlenecektir. Bu çalışmada biyoloji ve biyoloji felsefesine bağlı olarak ele alınacak bir başka konu da evrimdir. Akabinde biyoloji ve doğa bilimlerinin aslında biyoloji felsefesi ile ilişkisi nedir gibi konulara yer verilecektir.

ABSTRACT: The living beings have been in continuous research since when they were found in the universe. She/ He continued this search both in her/his own environment and in other areas. Among the living beings, the human beings are the individuals permanently making this search. Since human beings have appropriated everything in nature from the time when their existence. While doing this, she/he benefited from both science and philosophy. They also discovered certain laws by resorting to certain classifications. Aristotle was the first to voice these classifications. The classification of sciences, which started with Aristotle, was continued by philosophers and scientists who would later be influenced by him. Biology comes first among Aristotle’s classifications. In short, for Aristotle, biology is the science of life. Aristotle distinguished biology from other natural sciences such as physics and chemistry. The subject to be covered in the thesis will be biology, the laws of biology, science and scientific explanations, and the philosophy of biology. Also, metaphysical criticisms of natural laws and scientific explanations in biology will be mentioned. After explaining the characteristics of biology and the laws of biology, science and scientific explanations will be explained, and then these phenomena will be expressed by relating them to the philosophy of biology. Biology and other natural sciences are interrelated. Biology mostly talks about changing conditions, while natural sciences talk about stable situations. The characteristics of biology and the laws of biology necessitate their qualitative and quantitative study. In addition, the relationship between biology and other natural sciences will be discussed. Laws in other natural sciences, ceteris paribus laws, Newtonian mechanics, Hempel’s model of explanation will be covered. vi Another subject that will be discussed in this study, depending on biology and the philosophy of biology, is evolution. Then, topics such as what is the relationship of biology and natural sciences with the philosophy of biology will be included.
