ÖZET:Kötülük sorunu, ancak bir Tanrı’nın varlığı kabul edildiğinde bir “sorun” haline gelmektedir. Çünkü buradaki “sorun” Tanrı ile kötülüğü bağdaştıramama sorunudur. Tanrı’dan geldiği iddia edilen dinlerin kutsal kitaplarına bakıldığında, muhakkak her dinde ve kitapta, insanın ilk yaratılışıyla beraber kötülük, kendisine değinilen bir konu olmaktadır. Dolayısıyla kötülük sorununun, düşünenlerin yahut inananların hepsi için, bizzat dinlerde, muhakkak kafa yorulması gereken bir mesele olarak sunulduğu söylenebilir. Bunlara binaen, birçok düşünür, çok eskilerden beri, bu meseleye kafa yormuş, çeşitli çözüm yolları bulmaya çalışmıştır. İlâhî kitaplardan, Eski Yunan’a, Ortaçağ’a, Aydınlanma’ya hatta Tanzimat’a kadar kötülük sorunu ve çözümleri hakkında konuşulmuştur. Ahmed Midhat Efendi de bu soruna ve çözümlerine, Tanzimat’tan bakan, orijinal yönleri bulunan bir düşünür olarak çalışmaya değer görülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın içerisinde, Ahmed Midhat Efendi’nin yaşamına değinilmiş, felsefî görüşleri ve onun görüşlerinin etkilendiği mecralar hakkında yorumlar yapılmıştır. Daha sonra felsefî ve tarihsel olarak kötülük problemine değinilmiş, Ahmed Midhat Efendi’nin kötülük sorununa dair fikirleri derinlemesine incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Hemen ardından, kötülük sorununa çözüm önerileri olarak teodise kavramından ve kavramın tarihinden bahsedilmiş, Ahmed Midhat Efendi’nin teodiseye dair genel görüşleri ifade edilmiştir. Son olarak da onun savunduğu bazı özel teodiseler incelenmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde ise Ahmed Midhat Efendi’nin, kötülük sorunu ve teodise bağlamındaki tavrı, sistemli bir şekilde aktarılmış, bu tavrın açıklaması ve anlamlandırılması yapılmaya çalışılmıştır.

ABSTRACT: The problem of evil becomes a “problem” only when the existence of a God is accepted. Because the “problem” in this issue is the inability to reconcile God with the evil. When the holy books of religions that are claimed to come from God are examined, it can be observed that evil is a subject that is mentioned with the first creation of man in every religion and book. Therefore, it can be said that the problem of evil is presented as an issue that must be pondered by all thinkers or believers, in religions themselves. Based on these, many thinkers have thought about this issue and tried to find various solutions since ancient times. From the sacred books to Ancient Greece, the Middle Ages, the Enlightenment, and even the Tanzimat, the problem of evil and its solutions have been argued. Ahmed Midhat Efendi, as a philosopher with original aspects and looking from the Tanzimat aspect, considered it worth working on this problem and its solutions. In this study, Ahmed Midhat Efendi's life was mentioned, and comments were made about his philosophical views and the dykes in which his views were affected. Then, the philosophical and historical problem of evil was mentioned, and Midhat Efendi's ideas on the problem of evil were tried to be examined in depth. After that, the concept of theodicy and the history of the concept were mentioned as solutions to the problem of evil, and Midhat Efendi's general views on theodicy were expressed. Finally, some special theodicies that he advocated were examined. In the conclusion part, Midhat Efendi's attitude in the context of the problem of evil and theodicy has been systematically conveyed, and an explanation and interpretation of this attitude has been tried to be explained.
