ÖZET: Bu çalışmanın amacı işbirlikli öğrenme tekniklerinden Takım-Oyun-Turnuva (TOT) tekniğinin sosyal bilgiler dersi “Kültür ve Miras” öğrenme alanına ait konuların işlenişinde altıncı sınıf öğrencilerin akademik başarıları ve tutumları üzerindeki etkisinin araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2022-2023 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Van iline bağlı Gevaş ilçesinde bulunan Atatürk Ortaokulunun iki faklı şubesinde öğrenim gören 20’si Takım-Oyun-Turnuva (TOT) ile 23’ü Geleneksel Öğretim Yöntemi (GÖY) olmak üzere toplam 43 altıncı sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Kontrol grubunu oluşturan sınıfa geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri, deney grubunu oluşturan sınıfa ise Takım-Oyun-Turnuva tekniği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada Takım-Oyun-Turnuva tekniğinin öğrencilerin başarı ve tutumları üzerinde etkisinin belirlenmesi için nicel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Sosyal Bilgiler Başarı Testi (uygulama öncesi ve sonrasında) ve Gencel (2006) tarafından geliştirilen Sosyal Bilgiler Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizinde normalliğin kontrolü, varyans, Cronbach's Alpha, bağımlı ve bağımsız t testleri yapılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonunda elde edilen verilere göre deney ve kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin akademik başarılarında artış görülmüştür. Ancak iki grup karşılaştırıldığında işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubunun başarı puan ortalamalarının geleneksel yöntemin uygulandığı kontrol grubuna ait puan ortalamalarından anlamlı derecede yüksek çıktığı görülmüştür (p<.05). Tutum ölçeğinden elde edilen analiz sonuçlarında gruplar arasında sosyal bilgiler dersine yönelik tutum puanlarında anlamlı bir fark görülmemiştir (p>.05).

ABSTRACT:The purpose of this study is to research the effect of using the cooperative learning technique “Team-Game-Tournament” (TGT) on 6th grade students’ academic success and attitude while teaching the sub units of “Culture and Legacy” which belongs to the Social Studies lesson. The exemple group of the research is created by a total number of 43 6th graders, all of whom studies in 2 different classes of Atatürk middle school, which is located in Gevaş/Van, in the academic year 2022-2023, 20 of whom were taught the before mentioned unit by using the technique “Team-Game-Tournament” (TGT), and 23 of whom were taught by using the traditional method (TM) . The control group were exposed to traditional teaching methods whereas the example group were exposed to “Team-Game-Tournament” technique. İn this research, to determine the effects of using the technique “Team-Game-Tournament”, while teaching, on students’ attitude and success, quantititve research methods were used. As data collection tool, Social Studies Achievement test (before and after) and Attitude Scale, which was created by Gencel (2006) were used. To control the normality of the data which were optained during this research, variant, Cronbach’s Alpha and dependent or independent t test were used. According to the analyses and the obtained data, there has been an increase in the academic success of all the student on this research. However, it has also been seen that, increase in the experiement group is significantly higher than that of the control group (p<.05). according to the analyses result which were obtained by the Attitude Scale, there has not been a significiant different on the points of attitude towards the lesson Social Studies (p>.05).
